There’s a saying that learning should not be confined to the four walls of the classroom. At Kind Academy, a micro school offering non-traditional learning programs for preschool- and elementary-age children, learning and education happen outdoors—literally.
In any commercial gym, this is the usual scenario: People come in, plug their headphones, and go about their business on a treadmill. This is not the case at Margate Barbell, a strength and conditioning gym where owner Ryan Taylor and his gym’s members value community.
One does not often see “water, fire, and mold restoration” and “customer service” in the same sentence. But for Johnny Mackey, Rob Dodson, and Sean Toffey, owners of water, fire, and mold restoration company Shamrock Restoration, the two terms are inseparable.
Jason Troy may not be what one expects upon stepping inside his namesake salon, Jason Troy Hair. For one, he’s a spitting image of a rock star in a heavy metal or alternative band. For another, he sings and dances to blaring rock music while cutting or coloring his client’s hair.

Fort Lauderdale-based Citrix Systems has a reason to celebrate: it has outpaced analysts' projection of it's business revenues in 2018. The cultural phenomenon Game of Thrones has taken its hold in the annual South Florida Renaissance as the opening day saw a dozen Jon Snows and Daeneryses. The festival runs from February 9 - March 24 at Quiet Waters Park in Deerfield Beach. The rest of the weekend themes involve steampunk (February 16 through 18), Vikings (February 23 and 24), wenches (March 2 and 3), pirates (March 9 and 10), Celts (March 16 and 17) and Harry Potter (March 23 and 24). With a reputation for gnarly death scenes and unabashed nudity, Game of Thrones resonates with the bawdy theme of the renaissance era. However, the festival director insists that the festival will remain family friendly.
